Karen Boskemper, MCC
I am an ICF Professional Certified Coach, trainer and facilitator with 15 years’ experience as a corporate coach and leadership development specialist. I work with national/international corporations and consulting companies, as well as government agencies, lending my expertise on projects requiring executive coaching, leadership development training, custom workshop design, and management skill development. I love working with all levels in an organization, and my sweet spot is emerging leaders and newer managers.
My approach to coaching leaders is to help them upgrade their “inner operating” system which drives their current business results. Most leaders hire a coach because they want better results and getting different results requires leaders to think and behave in ways associated with higher levels of self-awareness and self-mastery. Einstein said: “The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.”
My focus is to work with leaders to get to the source of their thinking and behavior, and help them find new ways of communicating, collaborating, and negotiating in order to meet organizational and professional goals. I believe that leaders benefit from working with me because I challenge them to think outside the box and encourage them to find more effective ways of relating to people, solving problems, and increasing organizational effectiveness.
I leverage this approach in coaching and mentoring internal corporate coaches and consultants and with coaches seeking ICF credentialing. Coaching to the essence of the individual is helping them identify how their beliefs, assumptions, values and current way of thinking drive their “being”. As coaches we know this as “coaching to the who vs. the what.” The Target Approach, based on the ICF Competencies provides the framework to accelerate your competency development in all eleven competencies with specific focus on the “who” of the client.
I have always had an extreme passion for coaching mastery and mentoring. I have coached over 250 clients, have close to 2000 coaching hours and at a company I worked for was awarded the “Helping Others Grow” Award in 2008 for “her dedication to support others grow, taking care and mentoring beyond the call of duty.”
